Default who makes a good motherboard?

I have decided to go with an intel core 2 duo 1.8Mhz. I want to buy a decent motherboard with at least 4 PCI slots. What would you reccomend? Please look on scorptec.com.au because that is where I am buying all of my parts. Thanks

Asus or Gigabyte are probably the main two people are going for with the C2D CPU's. Well from what they have at Scorptec anyway. Most of them seem to have 3 normal PCI slots.

Depends how much you want to spend.

Asus P5B Deluxe - $299

Asus P5B-E - $265
http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/20572

Gigabyte GA-965P DS3 - $240
http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/19646

All are great boards. If you want to save money go with the Gigabyte. It's around the same as the P5B Deluxe.

I'm extremely pleased with my Gigabyte.

What about: scorptec.com.au/product/21019

What does this mean: "* Only supported with BIOS P1.20 or higher "

i am also going to use a tv tuner card, do all motherboards support them?

Thanks

I don't know much about ASROCK, someone else will have to have a go at that one.

The TV Tuner card should work fine.
I assume this isn't a gaming machine?

no, i will not use it for gaming, mainly music and video. Do you know what * Only supported with BIOS P1.20 or higher means?

It just means that the bios might need to be upgraded in order to support Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors
