Has anyone actually bought the new Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU?

All the places on the web I looked at are out of stock. The latest ETAs I got is end of August, begining of September.

Thanks, I have seen that. They are pre-ordering also now, plus for that much I can wait little longer.

most of them produced are supplied to the computer builders so not much are available for people to buy, even though they're on some sites you accidentally stumple upon, the price would be much higher than that. newegg have the 2 mb chache one now but expect to pay more.

I got one, but nothing else for it other than the heatsink... I might go pick up some components if the prices are right at a local mom and pop computer shop a little later. I got my e6600 locally from Microcenter in Atlanta (Duluth store) on tax free weekend last saturday, paid $379.99 exact. It dropped down to $359.99 but I'm not bummed out cause with tax it comes out to $381 something.
