The cpu has to be
Socket 939
Single Core
AMD

Which one is it? (venice opteron etc.)

Why does it have to be single core?
Id Say, 3700 Venice (I think)

Dual core is an Option.
4400+ For OCing
4600+ For no OC (At ressonable prices)

Uhh, Opteron 146 is better than all of those. Especially if you know how to overclock.. hope you do...

I CERTAINLY plan on overclocking, especially since I'm only planning to use these parts until mid 2007 (upgrading full when dx 10 comes out ATI)
What would you suggest I buy to reinforce my cooling??

this is my case, i think it has pretty good cooling,
"1 rear 120mm Tricool fan (standard) with 3-speed control to balance quiet with cooling
1 top (standard) 120mm TriCool Fan
1 lower chamber (standard) 120mm x 38mm (thick) TriCool Fan"

what else would you recommend?
I hope not water cooling.....
