Default Upgrading Old Reliable

Well, I've had this PC from 2004, its been pretty good ever since. With some upgrades of course.
Its pretty good now, but I've decided to max it out, and make it even better, try to make it last another 5 years, or more.

This is pretty much what it has now:
Monitor:
CRT
Hard Ware:
Intel 82845G Mobo
768MB of RAM
EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 6200 256MB
60GB HDD
Everything Else is Intergraded
OS:
Windows Vista Utimate

These are the upgrades I want to make:
2GB RAM - $59.99
Newegg.com - pqi 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 266 (PC 2100) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Sound Card - $14.99
Newegg.com - StarTech PCISOUND5CH 5.1 Channels 24-bit 48KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards

Speakers - $45.99
Newegg.com - Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 2-way Speakers - Speakers

Monitor - $219.99
Newegg.com - Acer AL2216Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor with HDCP support 300 cd/m2 700:1 - LCD Monitors

Hard Disk - 49.99
Newegg.com - EXCELSTOR Jupiter Series ESJ9250 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA133 Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

$390.95 In All

I thought thats great deals on stuff like that. Tell me what you think.

Just general and online gaming. Some Dev stuff like modeling, fooling around with some game engines, designing a few things.
XD thanks, I really like that monitor, hehe, it will barley fit on my desk.

Gosh, I'm realizing I got ripped big time with a local PC Shop.
He charged me $60 for 512MB of RAM. If I knew I could have had 2GB for the same price, I would have got this a long time ago.
Though I did not know about NewEGG back then.

ok, look at the price of the sound card. Now, tell me if you seriously think it's going to be a good one.

I know, it really does not matter though, for 15 bucks I'll take the chance.
As long as its better that intergraded. Though, the speakers will make it better anyways.

If you want to make the computer last another 5 years you might want to upgrade the processor and motherboard. Based off of your current motherboard you are running a Pentium 4 or Celeron which are becoming a little dated and are significantly slower than a modern dual core processor. For $227 before mail in rebates you can get a AMD Athlon x2 4800+ , Foxconn 780g motherboard with integrated ATi HD3200 graphics, 2x1gb of DDR2 800 ram, and a FSP Group 400w power supply which will be a huge upgrade from your current system

Newegg.com - Foxconn A7GM-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

Newegg.com - FSP Group SAGA+ 400R ATX12V 400W Power Supply 120/220 - 240v NEMKO, TUV, CSA, IEC, UL, CE - Power Supplies

Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor - CPUs / Processors

Well, something went bad about Intergraded card, every speaker I hook up to it, only the right one works. So this will defiantly be better, I'll look at some others though.

Great, thanks, I've been thinking of rebuilding... Hmm, this all it not to much, are they great parts for performance?
I got 3 questions...
1. I've really never used an AMD possessor, the one you suggested, is it a good one? (Haha, saw the "Dual Core" Now I about know its way better than mine, just making sure though)
2. If I get these parts, does it mean my PC will be 64Bit, and I need a 64Bit OS? (Of course, just making sure )
3. So if I buy these parts, its basically building a High Performance PC? Or in between, I know its a big upgrade from what I have..

^Just so you know that is without HDD so you would have to add another $49.99.
