Default Turn off one of my dual video cards?

I currently have dual nVidia 6800 GS's running on my system and I was wondering if there was a way to turn off the second one while not playing graphic intensive games. Without reaching into the case and taking it out of the slot of course

The reason I'm asking is because the fans are rather noisy, and since the dual SLI mode is only needed for a couple of my games it would be nice to cut back on the noise when doing simple things like surfing the internet.

I would think the only way would be to disconnect one, and reboot the system....sli splits the screen with each card doing half the screen..
