Default Toledo.... San Diego.... Whats the difference?

Just wandered what the difference in name means....

Is it something to do with overclocking?

Im getting a 4600 dual core... but the site doesnt specify the name like toledo or san diego...

Sorry if its a stupid question!

Toledo is dual core 1MB L2 Cache, and San Diego is single core 1MB L2 Cache

I believe it reffers more to the architecture used. Like if two CPUs have the same core name, then they're probly just set at different speeds or something.

the Toledo core is simply two San Diego cores on one processor die. in otherwords it's a dual core San Diego as opposed to the real San Diego core which is a single core. the 4600+ is neither. it is a Manchester core. it is a dual core but it is based on the Venice core.
