Question For those who tried Intel Duo and Duo 2 ?

For those who had experience with Intel Duo AND Intel Duo 2 , is the performance "significantly" different ? Intel is claiming its 40% better , but I always trusted users opinions not companies.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

It's called Core Duo and Core 2 Duo. And the Core 2 Duos, are the best processors out now. I believe the performance of the Core 2 Duo, is significantly better. So what Intel is saying is true.

core duos are only in laptops... but its pretty much well known the core 2 duos are far better. they produce less heat and use less energy so battery life is usually higher in c2d's.

Actually Core Duos are in desktops also. There are Core Duo processors for the ancient socket 478. But Core Duos are mostly mobile processors.

Not worth it IMO. Their price/performance ratio isn't good.

x2.
All I can say about mine is that it is way faster than any system I ever owned but it didn't change my life.
I just built a system for a friend and he is using a Brisbane 3600+ and the difference isn't that alarming. Mine still kicks it's a$$ but nothing to brag about.
Anyways, good luck and wait another 2months and get a c2d for much less.
