Default Surge protectors/suppressors

Whats the skinny on surge procectors/suppressors? Surfing at newegg, I noticed several different models up to $70 or better. Is there that much of a difference between them? Starting a new build and I just want to make sure I protect it enough. What would ya'll suggest. I did a search of the forums, but didn't really find that much.

Thanks

You should ask Law about this. He is pretty knowledgeable in that area....but I'd say the more expensive and more VA rating, the more backup time you'll have to safely shut down your computer, or the longer it will stay powered, during a black or brownout.
