Default SLI Ready

I have had my motherboard for about a year now, and im interesed in taking use of the Sli Ready feature, but need a couple questions answered.

1.Will it actually increase my gamming performance, by much?

2. i know i would have to get Nvidia but i wont need to get the same card i have already got or will i?

3. Which one would go on the 1st slot the higher performance card, or doesnt matter?

4. Does it really make much of a differnce to game play?

You do get some benifit form SLI but mostly on a 22 inch or bigger screen. and to get SLI to really be worth it you need the 8000 series and some of those can get pretty pricey.
