Default Setting up RAID 0 with two slightly different hard drives

Hi, I've had a Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 80GB SATA for about a year, and today I went to buy an identical one but when I got home I found out it was a Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 10 80GB SATA. I read that RAID is best set up with identical hard drives, but I also see very few differences between these two drives, can I go ahead and try to set it up?

My motherboard, the Asus A7N8X-e deluxe, has a built-in RAID controller.

Thanks for any help. Really appreciate it!

GuitarFreak1857 is on a distinguished road

Default

the HDDs have to be identicle meaning exactly the same to do raid, and RAID 0 is very unreliable. if your doing gaming its good but if one fails your screwed.
