I've got my eye on the SB X-FI Platinum, included with the X-FI I/O Drive in the box.
Before I go running off to spend $200 and finding out that the X-FI I/O Drive won't fit in my motherboard :
I've noticed that the I/O Drive does NOT plug into a USB or Firewire. It plugs into some slot I would assume is on the motherboard I have never seen before.
Will it work smoothly with the motherboard I have now?

The Front panel actually plugs into The sound card itself, So aslong as you have a spare PCI slot you're sorted.

Really? I've seen the the card myself, and I didn't see a slot for anything besides the power. I'll check again, thanks.
