Default s754 upgrade

i would like to get another year out of my dying breed s754 by makin' a couple upgrades

specs
Athlon64 2800+ @ 3000+
Gigabyte GA-K8Ns nF3 250
Samsung 512 @450mhz (upgrade to 1.5 min if gfx upgrade)
6600gt@ 561/1200
Enermax 460w PSU

the only reasonable upgrade i would do is RAM and gfx.
processor i can clock to a stable 3200+ if i need to and doesn't seem reasonable to spend the 300+ on top end s754 (canadian)

i'm thinkin' about the following gfx:

eVGA
http://anitec.ca/product/5544/evga_e...n_256mb_agp8x/

http://anitec.ca/product/5702/evga_e...s_256mb_agp8x/

would i get the proper performace out of the 6800 let alone the 7800 due to bottleneck?
or...just wait til end of may and open my cheap pockets for dual core?

i'm a moderate gamer but do not want to run new games on a low 800x600.
right now my GT has been good to me, but feel summer time it's gonna get it's ars kicked.

i would go for the 6800gs, you will see better performance with it and there is no point in wasting money on the 7800gs if your going to upgrade to pci-e or socket 939 in the future, so in other words the 6800gs is a great card and will suit you fine.

also i would leave your CPU at a stable 3000 and not worry about 3200, i have athlon 3000 socket 754 and it works great with any gfx card(i have tried my friends 7800gs, i have a regular 6800)

but i would definately go for the ram upgrade atleast to 1 gig
