Default Removing Optical Drive

I want to remove one of my two optical drives to save power for my video card because I am close to the minimum. When I remove the power thing from the drive (it has 4 holes) it successfully turns off the drive but then my system wont start up. Isnt there a way to just uninstall a drive?

How will it not start. I mean, does it not boot Windows, or does it not come on at all?
If it won't boot, then you need to change your BIOS settings.
