Default Ram Compatibility question

I was gonna buy this ram: NEW 1GB PC5300 PC2-5300 DDR2 667mhz Desktop Memory RAM - (eBay item 220148883304 end time Sep-20-07 11:34:55 PDT)

I will be using a GA-8S655FX-L mother board, is there any compatibility issues that will come into play? Im sorta new and have no idea whether it will work or not, so ya any help you guys can give me is appreciated. :freak:

no....

GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview - GA-8S655FX-L (Rev 1.1)

urs supports ddr 400 only... look for ddr 400 184pin RAM

I appreciate the fast response, anyways I can upgrade my motherboard if thats the issue, I was gonna slowly upgrade my computer anyways and I think the first step is probably a new motherboard/ram.

I attached my computer specs from cpuz if you can help me find out if it would be the best option.

best option?

get a new system... its sorta uncanny how similar our systems are.... start from scratch and sell this off (or keep it as a backup)

Like vernong has stated, you need the DDR 400 RAM for that motherboard since it's only compatible with that speed.
