Default Ram

Yeah I got my bro a new AMD motherboard and giving him an old CPU I had lying around. Just wondering, if ram operating at 533mhz will work on a board which takes 800mhz ram. So basically I m asking if PC3200 ram will work on a board for PC6400 ram. And I have read reviews on the board that suggest it works, but only if the ram is operating at a certain voltage.

Here is the board
Newegg.com - ECS Geforce6100PM-M2 AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

And here is the ram
Newegg.com - Kingston ValueRAM 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Default Re: Ram

that board and ram will work fine. PC3200 will not work because its ddr and is 184 pin as oppose to 240 which is ddr2.
