Amd build CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 2000MHz HT 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Dual Core Processor - Retail Mobo ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail GPU eVGA 256-P2-N553-AX Geforce 7600GT CO 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail RAM pqi TURBO 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail Case KINGWIN SK523BKWBC Black SECC Steel chass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail Intel CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz / 2MB Cache / 1066MHz FSB / Dual-Core / OEM / Socket 775 / Processor Mobo Intel BOXDP965LTCK Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail GPU SAPPHIRE 100106SR-RD Radeon X850XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail RAM pqi TURBO 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail Case KINGWIN SK523BKWBC Black SECC Steel chass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail 1. Which do you guys think is a better setup? (Mostly going to be used for gaming) 2. Would you change anything? 3. Are the parts all 100% compatable (I've been browsing these forums quite often recently and i believe they are compatable) 4. I dont know much about a power supply so i was wondering if anyone could suggest any for me 5. I wanted one optical drive, but (like above) i have no clue on how to choose one I already have my hard drive and my budget is $800 (but very flexible) Any help would be greatly appreciated

KCRMYZ Banned Join Date: Oct 2005 Posts: 664	I dont care what anyone thinks AMD is the best! Cheaper, one of my freinds work for them. So I have had my good shares with bringing in 5 diff proccesors trying out.

1) the intel build is better
2) perhaps..
3) yes they seem to be compatible
4) mid range = fsp fortron 450watt, mid-high range = antec 550 watt true power 2.0
5)meh, doesn't really matter.. they say nec and lite-on are pretty good...

i think that intel setup kicks *** ti will run alot better than the amd

fastrandstrongr Super Techie Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 268	i'd wait until the sapphire x850xt pe cards come back in stock and then get one of those. when they were in stock they were the same price as an x850xt.
