I'm in the process of building a new Box and was hoping to get some input
on my current Revised component list. I would appreciate anyone’s comments
positive or negative. It has been awhile scenes I’ve wanted to build a new PC.

the 7950 is only a direct X9 card. You can get an 8600gt for the same price and you'll have direct X10 capability

Not sure why you would need 4 gg of RAM. I see a lot of satisfied people who use only 2 gig.

I'll have to take a look at the 8600gt for some reason i missed that card
I'm still not sure about 4gb it was only a thought but does any know if vista
can use 4GB i don't remember off the top of my head. thanks

The PSU is over kill. You don't need any where near 1200w. Just pick up a 520w Corsair or something simular. Where are you buying the parts from?

The 8600GTS is another card to look at. With the extra money (if you get a lower power PSU) will get you an 8800GTS.

Drop the 1200W power supply, and go with a Corsair 520 or 620, like turtile said.

Drop the e6700, and get the e6600 instead. Just overclock it. The e6700's price tag, doesn't justify the extra $200 more or less, for only 200MHz more speed. The e6600, will overclock to 3.5, usually with the proper aftermarket cooling, in which I recommend, when overclocking.

Go down to 2gb of ram. It will handle Vista and gaming, easily.

That motherboard, is an awesome overclocker. You could also look into the MSI P6N Platinum.

From the money, you save, from dropping those expensive parts, you can get an 8800GTS.

as far as parts go, newegg.com, pricewatch, .etc or local vender's depending on the deal i can get. thanks for the tip on the power supply, i've been looking at the 8800 GTS, now i thank i could afford it if i go with the Corsair 520 or 620. I will have to do some reading on the p6n, i've seen a lot of good reviews for it.

my suggestion si go with a e6320 which is cheaper and almost the same as e6600 and overclock the **** out of it.

get this psu, it will be enough for ur needs, and is pretty good, and cheap too.

so by doing this u save a lot of money, without sacrificing the performance, and u have the money to go with a 8800gts 320 mb.

but if not, i would go with a x1950xt, its 70$ cheaper and is a great card and will handle anything, but not dx10 ofcourse

for mobo def. go with the DS3. the 650i i hear has lots of issues. for the psu, the rosewill's are getting better, but i think fortron is still tops... so check those out.
