Default Is it possible to change the graphics card on a laptop

I recently purchased an HP laptop and am wondering if it was possible to change the graphics card because they did not offer good options when it came to graphics cards. The best graphics card i could get was a 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS and i was looking for the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT.

thanks to anyone who helps

It depends on the laptop (needs a slot such as MXM)

Short answer.... NO

Long answer.... YES

You can change it if and only if the size of the new graphics card as well as the type of connection is the same. If not, then you can still change it but it wouldn't be a laptop anymore. You'd have to modify the case and all that stuff.

Do they offer a 8800gt for a laptop? I thought the fastest 8 series gpu for a mobile PC was the 8600gt GO....

Only way to find out is to research your laptop model.. See what comes up.
