| Phenom II X3 710 compatability question. So that 710 is pretty much a beast for it's price range, and I'm curious to see if it actually would work with my motherboard, I know compatability with older AM2 motherboard is generally hit or miss. I was wondering if anyone knows for sure if the phenom 710 would work with my motherboard Newegg.com - ASUS M2A-VM AM2 AMD 690G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards.
Thanks.

| Re: Phenom II X3 710 compatability question. That's a shame, well it looks like I'll be on this x2 4000+ rig a lot longer then.

| Re: Phenom II X3 710 compatability question. It supports the Kumas though, that could be a nice upgrade.

| Re: Phenom II X3 710 compatability question. Phenom II + 690G AM2 (M2A-VM) = Works
They got a 940 to work, should be able to get a 710 to work.

Reason: 720 was meant to be 710

| Re: Phenom II X3 710 compatability question. Eh, that is way too risky. You can't just use a cpu that isn't supported by the bios. A bunch of things could go wrong. That kid got lucky.

| Re: Phenom II X3 710 compatability question. I'll just hold out longer until the 710 gets a price cut, then I'll buy a new motherboard and CPU. I'm not really in a rush, I tend to like dealing with low end computers for some reason.
