I am deciding to uprade my current computer and wondering if this will be a suitable ugprade. My old pc spec is below and my new proposed one will be below that.

Old Spec:
AMD Athlon 64 Newcastle 3000+ @ 2.0ghz skt 754
2 x 512 GB RAM PC3200 333mhz
BFG Nvidia 7800GS OC AGP
Soundblaster Audigy 2
2 x 160GB IDE Samsung @ 7200rpm
Motherboard @ 800fsb
DVD Drive / CD Drive (dont have a clue about the spec of these though)

New Spec
AMd Athlon 64 Windsor 4600+ @2.4Ghz (SKT: AM2)
2x512 Corsair Twinx DDR2 PC6400 @ 800MHZ
200GB SATA300 @ 7200RPM
ASUS M2N-E Motherboard @ 2000FSB
Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX 256MB
Soundbaslter Audigy 2

investigate the poss. of the intel core 2 duo cpus these are better than the amd dual core. this would mean a different motherboard.

i was gonna go for the amd 3800+x2 but then i found out about core duo and my e6300+ kicks ***

you will want to get like the e6600 cpu intseat of my e6300 because you can afford...
