I'm buildin my friend a computer (not till october when he gets enough money). He'll use it for basic stuff like internet and stuff and probably get a 6600GT. I'll probably set him up with a Sempron. hes got a $500 to $600 buget but needs a mouse, speakers, and keyboard. He picked out this tower:

Just internet? You may be able to step down to a normal 6600 and use the extra money to boost up the CPU.

i would say stick to the 6600GT for future purposes...cause he might want to play some games in the future

yea hes gonna want the 6600GT. i saw a good Althon 64 for 160 so i think i might have him get that (he doesnt kno much about computers so i'm pickin out most of the parts and stuff)

i still need to pick out a motherboard, ram, dvd drive, hard drive (thinking about SATA but idk much about those), video card and acessories (which we can get later). suggestions would help alot. I've only worked with ASRock motherboards and loved them but would like to try some other companies.

i still agree with the first post maybe step down as far as a crappy 6200 (hey they get the job done i have one) and get as much as you can for the rest and then just replace the graphics card later.
