Default Notebook Harddrive Troubles

I have a notebook harddrive, Toshiba to be exact, pulled it our of a laptop for a customer, it just kept the little white line blinking, so he just wanted me to pull the photos of the HD, i have a notebook to standard IDE adapter hooked up to a HD enclosure, when i turn the enclousre on, the HD doesnt show up, is there jumper settings that i dont know about, cause there is none on the HD.....

k all notebook HD's are set to master and cant be changed (this rules sometimes doesnt apply to some expensive HD's). ive tried this when my HD failed on my laptop.

But i dont know what yoll do now!

When we do data migrations at my work we just do a laptop hd to ide adapter and hook it up directly to and ide ready desktop and drag all of the files off, we don't do anything with an enclosure.
