Default Noisy HSF

The heatsink for my Celeron 2.4GHz is getting really noisy lately, and it's starting to sound like a fridge. I saw on the site that I usually buy all my computer stuff from, they have fanless heatsinks. Are they a good idea, or would they promote overheating. I just want to find a good, silent, low-cost heatsink for a socket 478 Celeron. I'm not OCing, so I only need something that can do the job.

buy any generic hsf if you ARENT oc'ing, it really wont matter, i would say buy a nice cheap 10$ one but seeing as tho you are from NZ you will probably spend 3 times that much for the same thing, i think the heatsink is definately going to be the quietest thing in your case if you have even 1 fan + psu

just by a decent HSF because the better ones are good enough that a lot of the time they can run without the fan and make almost no audible noise anyway.
