Default New processor vs more ram

I am planning to get either more ram or a new processor and i dont know which one to get , my budget is around 70 bucks. i have a p4 2.8ghz with Asus P4P800 SE Motherboard ( P4P800SE ) - Motherboard - Asus System this motherboard. which would be the best processor for me to get and would it be better than upgrading with more ram than the 1gb i have now

can't get much better processor......you should just save for a whole new build, your's is really outdated. But if you must upgrade just go with RAM

You can't really upgrade processors much at all. The only real thing you can do with that motherboard and budget would be to upgrade RAM, but if you are running XP, 1GB of DDR memory should be plenty. Your best bet to speed that puppy up would be a fresh install of Windows.

Sorry, but the dated machines just don't upgrade easily.

yea, you seem to have a socket 478 board..and the best CPU you could get is like a P4 3.0-3.2ghz...which wouldn't be much of an improvement.

Just get another 512MB-1GB of RAM, do a fresh install of windows, and OC the CPU a bit maybe. In the long run it would just be better to save for a new computer.
