Default New Motherboard + CPU

Can an1 recommend a new mobo + cpu to get, preferably 1 that is good for games!

Max i can spend is £300

I currently have

Antec 900 Case
Seagate 250gb 7500.10 IDE HDD
Hiper HPU-4M580 Type R 580W ATX2.2 PSU
Samsung SH-W183 18x18 DVD±RW
BFG GeForce 7950 GT

just need mobo and a cpu

any help is much appreciated

hang on, that's a little more than 300 pounds. I'll find a less expensive motherboard.

That mobo is out of stock lol, im just going with original 2, only a bit over £300!

are u sure the mobo + cpu will fit with my other componenets

how about an MSI 975X Platinum PE?
less expensive, and still a good motherboard.

and yes, it will work. DDR2, PCI-E, socket 775 (motherboard and CPU)

the only thing that might be an issue is if you have a 20 pin PSU. these motherboards use a 24 pin connector
but you can get one of these if your PSU is not 24 pin:

so will i get good performance on games with this set?
