Default new memory trouble

im haveing trouble, installing new RAM.
first ram is transcend 512mb, ddr400, pc3200. second is twin mos 256mb, ddr400, pc3200.
when i put only one of them everything works perfectly, when i put both memorys. computer reboots after a while and it wont boot untill i remove one of the rams
why is that?

The 256 mb one is probably faulty or something or there could maybe [im not so sure] be incompatibility issues?

Try putting just the 256 mb stick and boot the pc up, see if the 256 mb is causing the problems or not.

Maybe one of them is ECC and the other not. I've seen a couple computers with that problem and this cause. ECC and non-ECC on most mobos are note compatible. Just like DDR and DDR2 on the mobos it supports either, but not at the same time Try yellow's idea to. And, willeh did you read he said he had already put them each one alone. And it worked.
