Default New Hard Drive

Hello everyone, I'm in the market for a second drive for my gaming computer, as my available space seems to be running low. I currently have one IDE hard drive and one CD/DVD drive connected to separate cables. What would be the best/easiest/cheapest way to go about adding another drive? Should I just add another IDE drive in a master/slave config? I've also read that it is possible to add an SATA drive along side an IDE drive, would this be the better option?

Thanks in advance.

This is exactly what i have I had a 320GB IDE and got a 160 SATA from CompuUSA for $70 after rebate (about a year ago). I loaded the OS on the SATA and it is a lot faster and runs so quite! I have not been happier with the performance and I would recommend this approach.

Good Luck!
