Default New graphics card on old computer?

Hi, as the title says, I have a pretty old computer, and I wanna upgrade my graphcs card. I'm not all that tech savy, so Ill tell you what little I know.

My computer has a 2.40 GHZ processor

1 gig of ram

And I'm upgrading my power supply to 450 watt

I'm pretty sure it has 1 AGP slot and 1 normal PCI slot (not express)

The card I wanna get is a NVIDIA GeForce 6600 AGP

Is there anything I need to know about my computer before I buy this card? Like I said, its pretty old, it was an AOL commercialised computer, so teh motehrboard is proboably crap. But I'm not sure..

Anotehr thing is, I'm not playing any high end games, only DX 9 games, and low end RTs games.

Question 2:The card I want has DDR 2, but I only have DDR RAM on my computer. Will this effect it?

Just make sure you have an AGP slot. Here is what it looks like:

An AGP slot is normally brown. It will be set farther back from the edge of the board than a PCI slot.

Yeah It has an AGP slot, but is that really all I need for upgrading to this card? :o I wasn't expecting it to be that simple lol.

Oh another question is, the card I want is DDR 2, but I only have DDR RAM on my computer. Will this effect it?

Nope. The card's memory is completely separate from the system's memory. I am using DDR and my card has DDR3 or 4 (I forget).
