Cool new desktop for my mom

ok,so my mom wants to get a new desktop cause her old one is a slow piece of junk,so i want to now what the fastest and best desktop she can get for about $500-$600,it will only be use for stuff like e-mailing and web browsing but it has to be really really fast.

oh and $500-$600 for a whole new set up(as in computer and monitor, not just the computer)

and just so you know what shes used to she has a work laptop that runs windows 95 on it,sad truly sad.

anyway in short new (really fast)desktop set up for $500-$600(Canadian dollars)

and it has to run windows vista,so no macs.

the brand that would be preferred would be acer, but it's not too too big of a deal if it's not.

thanks guys.

Your going to have to build it yourself if you want a decent PC in the $500USD price range.

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards - $58
Newegg.com - Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops - $85
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives - $60
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Elite 330 RC-330-KKN1-GP Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases - $40
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory - $40
Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 20X DVD±R DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners - $23
Newegg.com - Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W ATX Power Supply - Power Supplies - $25
Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 64-bit English 1pk for System Builders DSP OEI DVD - Operating Systems - $90
Newegg.com - Hanns·G JW-199DPB Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors - $170

- $570 USD. You wont find a better PC for that that includes Vista and a monitor.
But yeah, you will have to buy and build it yourself. If you need help doing that, just ask.

Either that, or goto Dell, down side is slower CPU but not too bad, and a smaller screen:

His from Canada, that's why I think everyone has been avoiding this thread. Because TigerDirect prices are just plain awful.

I assume your mom is an uber hardcore gamer, so I recommend SLi'd GTX 280s, a core 2 extreme, 4gb GDDR3 ram, liquid cooling, and 1TB HDD
