If you have any suggestions on better parts to get or ways to lower the cost.

I would also like to know what a good motherboard would be since I am not really sure what to look for. I do not need a lot of features since I do not plan to overclock this computer. I Just want a basic motherboard that is reliable.

Looks good, but if you're not gaming, consider going lower on the processor. Could save you more money.

Yeah, you could get like a 3000+ for like $70 off newegg that gets the job done. It won't feel laggy or anything they're still great chips so don't worry about going lower end.

i agree, you could definitely go lower on the processor. if you won't be gaming i would say ditch the graphics card entirely and go for a motherboard with onboard graphics. normally i'd reccomend against that but it sounds like in your case it will be cheaper and best overall.

442.00 without shipping...

the case is Antec (good company with good PSU's.. hence good deal) the mobo may be micro ATX, but it has an Nivida 6100 video chipset... good video for basic stuff... even some mild gaming (older games, but hey...) I was going to suggest the AM2 Opty 1210 dual core if you can afford it... you may nto game but at least the dual core will last you while more than single... and it's only 170.00

I think I will go with the opteron instead. My only concern is the power supply in the case. Looking at the reviews many of them said it died very quickly and I donÂ’t want it to mess up anything else in this computer as it needs to last a while. Even though it is made by antec do you think it would be a good idea to get a better psu?

you could. it's completely up to you... but your not going to be stressing it out at all with general useage... no matter what brand, and how good they are... there is always the chance of a lemon...
