I just finished a new build and I went to install the os because everything checked out fine. When I start the xp setup it formats the hard drive, detects everything fine, and restarts to resume setup. Once it restarts it goes back to the orginal format screen and not go to the setting up windows xp screen. It will keep repeating the format process and never continue setup. What is wrong here?

I have a Wd 320 GB HDD sata and a DVD RW that is all. thx in advance.

Take out the CD after the installation. Also did you disable ACHP for SATA in the bios?

I did take out the cd and when it tried to boot from hdd it just kept restarting over and over instead of booting. Also it reads my hdd fine do I still need to enable that?
