Question need help building a computer for a student in High School

I need help building a computer for a student that is attending high school. The person is a female and doesn't need to game. The budget will be $800. They already have a monitor and keyboard, etc. They need an OS, i thinking Vista Home Premium. Between AMD and Intel, I'll choose Intel. I would like for the computer to last from high school to college. Can anybody help please.

P.S. The monitor will most likely be HDCP.

Have you thought about buying a computer instead of building one?
You can find a desktop PC w/ Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD and a 23" monitor for $499 with Dell.

With all the important parts being crap brands.

Building is a better deal when trying to get he best bang for buck setups.

You're basically looking at a dual-core e84/500 build with a mid range gpu... 500 will be more than enough for hardware...
