Default Need good advice please!

Im looking for a good laptop to buy for college. So I can work and play games. I can only spend about 1,100 or a little more. Ive come down to two choices which are

http://www.abs.com/app/config.asp?mono=1850

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...E1505DTC&s=dhs

the abs has the 9700 and the dell has the x1300 and the x1400. Which of those would be better? Any other suggestions for laptops would be good also. All help is greatly appreciated i'm not too familiar with stuff like this.

I also just found this site
http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/c...mid=126#header

If anyone has ordered from the two other than dell. Let me know if they are reliable. Sorry if its too much at once.

Don't buy a Dell. Their products aren't reliable at all. Just cheap and nasty.

while i cant agree with dell desktops i do agree that dell laptops are unreliable. all 3 of mine each had some problem. I have a sony now and love it. you may want to check them out, or maby acer laptops.

This is the one I would buy for that budget Look at the specs its awesome example: Acer AS5672WLMi Intel Core Duo Processor 1.66GHz / 802.11a/b/g Wireless / Bluetooth / 15.4-Inch WXGA / 1GB DDR2 / 100GB HDD / DVDRW / Windows XP Home / Notebook PC

And for $100 less with decent onboard (will still play the games you want well. This One

And for an even $1000 This Lenovo n100 (IBM) ,, Only 512mb ddr2, no dvd burner, desent onboard graphics, a little more portable.

The Acer 5672WLMi is indeed a good laptop.

Dells are very good. They are at very ncie prices with very nice discounts. You can configure a much better laptop, and get a 500-700$ rebate, and you would be looking at a T2400, 1-2gb ram, x1400, 100+gb HDD, DVD burner.

You can always buy laptops with little memory and upgrade it later, as this is much cheaper. IBM have very solid build quality.
