Default MSI K8N Neo4-F

i'm replacing the northbridge fan with a heatsink. anybody try that? i hate mine cuz its too frickin loud. how hard is it? do you have to take the mobo out of the case?

Why not just unplug the fan, you don't really need it. I disable it on my MB also. Adds to the noise.

that seems kinda dangerous... i feel maybe its gonna burn something.... i think if i remove the fan.. i should at least replace it with something... a semi-decent heatsink will do..

how long ago you disable the fan on your mb?

On the North bridge, like a year ago when I got it. Doesn't it already have a heatsink under that fan no? I'm pretty sure you'll be able to replace that heatsink with your own pretty easy.

hey thx a lot, i feel more confident now

this is how it looks like.. its probably a lot better than the heatsink under the fan..
