Default medium gaming pc build

ok i saw this build posted by b1gapl

Case - Cooler Master Centurion 534 or Rosewill R5604-TBK or Your choice...
Motherboard - Biostar TForce TF7025
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache
RAM - 1GB G. Skill DDR2-800 NRs
Graphic Card - HIS HD 2600XT 256MB
Power supply - FSP Group (Fortron Source) 400W
Hard Drive - Western Digital 160GB
Optical Drive - Sony NEC Optiarc DVD Burner

in the same section i saw a post that this card was better
EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card

now if i add that card and and at least 1 0r 2 more gb of ram to it
wpuld it handle medium gaming i don't need a omg power full pc
just enuff to handle the old and new pc games out there
and how long would it last me b4 i would have to upgrade or build a new one?
i could get a 360 instead but the games r too dam pricy lol
i really dont wana spend to much money on it but i want to build so i get the xperience of building a pc myself

thanks in advance

Well with the graphics card, you will be able to play the new DX 10 games. However, they will start to get more and more powerful and the 8600 & lower cards won't be able to handle them as well.

If you can, I would really recommending splurging to get an 8800.

nice choice
but get crucial ballistix instead
if you want a medium gaming get a 7900gs
its really good it outperforms most of the lower 8 series
that would be able to run games on medium

Drogos,

Which thread was that from? I think the only reason, I suggested that graphic card, was that he wasn't really planning on gaming. I think it was for general use, and media encoding.

HIS HD2600XT 256MB is an underclocked HD2600XT. HIS HD2600XT has 1400MHz GDDR3 but the normal HD2600XT have 2.2GHz GDDR4 memory

I recommend 8600GT for gaming, it is better than HID HD2600XT

That looks pretty good to me. Those are the choices I would suggest. It's good for medium gaming, and some high end.

In a few months, AMD will launch their new desktop processors, which is compatible with your motherboard.
