| Hello, I would like to hear what some of you think are the best ATX style socket 7 mother boards. I would like 3 dimm slots and be able to handle a K6-III+ CPU. I have a Jmark J-542C now, Not real happy with the way it runs. It has only 2 dimm slots so I can't add much memory to it. Its for my old junk put together PC so I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a different type of CPU and that stuff. I see allot of socket 7 boards on Ebay but I don't want to buy something without a little knowlege about the different ones. The other boards I have run is the biostar M5ALA, they worked pretty good but I had 3 of them and every one had problems and didn't last very long. I remember reading a list of the better socket 7 boards a year or two ago but I don't remember where I saw it. Tom

| apokalipse is right you'll need a super socket 7 board. ebay is the only place I know of to get one. My advice is to buy a mobo from a manufacturer you've heard of before and from a good seller.

| Most socket 7/super socket 7 boards that I've come across have a limit of 64mb or 128mb of memory, none of them having more than 2 DIMM slots. That said I really can't recommend a specific board for you.

| As of this morning this pc is running a 128 and a 256 dimms. I was just playing games that would freeze the thing up before and it worked great. I also installed a Jaton 3D Force B-32 plus AGP vid card today and now have 32 bit color on this old pile of junk. As near as I can tell this is basicaly the same card as a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64 card. I did some searching and found a few super 7 boards with 3 dimm slots. I hear the FIC PA 2013 is a good one. The old Biostar M5ALA v.2 board that came in this PC originaly had 3 dimm slots, but like I said I had 3 of those boards die in a 4 years so I gave up on them. I have a Jmark J-542C because a local computer place had it laying around for a couple years and he gave me a real deal on it, brand new in the box for $30. Its not a full ATX size so I had to mod the case a little to make it fit.
