Add 3 more case fans, round floppy cable, SATA cable, 20-24 pin powersupply/motherboard adapter, and a power conversion cable for my video card, and the total comes to $794 after shipping.

Switch from the EPox to an Abit, Asus, MSI, Giga-byte or DFI

If you can't aford to, downgrade your ram. You won't nottice much difference unless you plan to overclock.

All retail motherboards come with ide, floppy, and sata cable.

I've done a bunch of research on the motherboard, and all the reviews at Newegg seem good. I also found a nice review on my motherboard here: http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NzQ4LDE=

Good catch on the SATA cable, I didn't know for sure if my motherboard came with one or not, so I planned on ordering one just to be safe. After looking a little more, I found out that it comes with two SATA cables.

The RAM... I do plan on overclocking, but not right away. I'll be too **** excited just to get the machine up and running, I won't have time to overclock.

Anything else you guys see that could use some fixing?

Stick with the 6600GT but go for a leadtek or gigabyte.

Just changed the XFX 6600GT to the eVGA 6600GT because the eVGA was on sale this weekend for the same price as the XFX, and from what I've read, eVGA is better.

Stick with the one gig of ram, thats pretty standard nowadays, and Epox isnt a bad brand. However, if you can afford extra, go for 3200+ or 3500+, because 3000+ is getting a little behind. Also, see if you can get SATA2, its a fasterHD.

I didn't think $40 was worth the .2Ghz difference between the 3000+ (1.8Ghz) and 3200+ (2Ghz). I think it would be just as easy to overclock. Depending on cooling, I should be able to reach the 3500+ speeds as well (2.2Ghz).
