Default Laptop HDD as USB2 drive

Hey

I've recently ditched my old Dell 5100 laptop but I kept the Hitachi DK23EB 40 gig HDD.

Can I simply place this HDD in a 2.5" enclosure and connect it to my PC to be used as an external HDD? Any power issues?

Thanks

Dave
