Is the intel x3000 any good? With the E6300 core 2 duo and 1gb of ram...do you think it will be able to play a game like nhl 07?

Not very well, Intel is still one of the weakest chips for onboard graphics. You could most likely play it but it would be on the lowest settings. It's a big bottleneck for a nice system like that, even a cheap pci-e card will be a lot better.
