I see laptops with intel centrino that says it has core 2 duo processor. What's the difference between the centrino that has the core 2 duo and the laptops that have just the processor core 2 duo?

Centrino is a mobile technology, that consists of 3 parts, the chipset, the processor, and the wireless capability. If one of those is missing, then the centrino sticker cannot be placed on the laptop. Basically these 3 put together just mean that the system is made for efficient performance, for example my centrino laptop gets over 5 hours on the battery when using intel's speedstep technology, which downclocks the cpu speed when not needed, and turns it up when needed.

centrino is not a processor, its the name of the technology. the first centrino laptops had pentium m's like mine, but the newer ones use core solo/core duos, so theyre called centrino/centrino duo. yes. centrino technology is very good and efficient, and the laptops run longer with less power.
