Default Intel Celeron 3.2 Ghz. Sucks?

okay, i have a motherbored with a Celeron 3.2 Ghz. iv heard this sucks. if it does, how? i thought more Ghz is better, or is there more to it? im looking to upgrade my video card, and i was told my Celeron might bottleneck a good card.

Well, for basic computing, Celeron kicks butt. It's affordable, and gets the job done, but compared to its brother, the Pentium 4, it's kinda crippled...

FSB -
Celeron: 533Mhz
P4: 800Mhz

Cache -
Celeron 16KB for Celeron, 256KB for Celeron D
P4: 1-2MB depending on model

Depending on what you are doing with the computer, the processor should be fine.

GeForce 6600 GT 128MB PCI is what i looked at, but would it be worth getting one thats 256MB???

Since it's a Celeron, you must get 256MB. It's gonna lag otherwise. I have a 2.66 Celeron D, and it lags badly with 64MB video.

Get the better video, it will be well worth it. Ram is good as well, never game with a Celeron + 512MB RAM.

Yeah, it sucked alot before i upgraded ram. so a 256MB video card is good? thats what im looking at now. but there are so many types. cheap 100$ ones to 300$ ones. i dont know which is more worth my time.

That should be okay. As long as it gets good reviews on Newegg, its fine.
