BF2 isn't as demanding as people think...with Catalyst 5.8 drivers I run it at 1280x1024, 4x AA without a problem on my X800 Pro with 1GB of RAM.

My neighbor is thinking about a $1000 build too.

How would this be guys?

case - 75

mobo - 119

video card - 300

PSU - $113

processor - 190

ram - 110

HDD- 89

burner - 39

$1,035.87 w/o shipping and I think that with that mobo, ram, and processor you will be able to do some **** good overclocking, plus you'll have a spare PCI-E slot so a PC like this should last years for even a big gamer because a lotta people have OC'd the 3200 to FX-55 speeds.

you should look at the 6600gt only because i personally think that spending 300 dollars on a vid card is quite extravagent (but hey thats just me) prolly 1 gb (2 x 512mb) corsair or kingston at least 433mhz? memory is important. cpu you should go for AMD 64 3200+ any over is really not worth the extra speed for the cost. (you wont see any noticeable difference). Personally i also like MSI K8N Neo4 not Neo4-F thats the entry level one. its a socket 939 board. if you follow my specs you could prolly get away with about 400-500 shipped.

Are the X2 cpu worth it now? also would two 6800gt in sli run better then one 7800gtx? are most the newer nivida cards sli compatible? so later on down the road when they get cheaper I could upgrade with another one? Thanks Scott.
