Default How can I fix / stop corrupt Win RAR files?

I download a lot of files from Rapid Share. They are all Win RAR archives (.rar files) and they are all movies. They decompress into the .avi file format. But recently 90% of all the RAR files I have downloaded are corrupt. Why? And more importantly how can I fix this.

that's easy. illegally produced copies tend to be bad quality.

you could go and buy the actual DVD, and get a much higher quality copy, and you don't have to decompress anything.

Disable all programs running in the background (antivirus, etc). I had tons of "corrupt archive" errors on a stressed computer, if I disabled everything it would run fine. Both compressing and decompressing. Seems to be a bug in WinRAR.

Where can I get 7zip? Is it an .rar file decompressor?
