hey guys.. im know how to work wit computers and everything but i have no knowledge about ram and the motherboard...... all i know is that my motherboard is a P4 Mainboard P4S5A/DX..... i just got a 512mb ram and a 100mb ram from my friend and put them into the slots on my motherboard... they fit perfectly but wen i turn on the computer and check to see if they worked... it says that the ram that came wit the computer (256mb) is the only one running... please help me...... my sn for aim is kajsupra621

probably your mobo cant handle any more then 256. Check out this site www.crucial.com shows you how much ram your pc/mobo can handle.
