Help With Older PC and New DVD

Okay so I was at my parents house and my father wants a dvd burner. I am unsure what mobo he has so therefore I cant be sure what DVD to get. It is an old P4 so I guess I am going to assume it will take an IDE drive. Is this assumption correct? or should I go back and check for sure? I really don't want to go back because they live about an hour away from me ATM. Also my father isn't computer savvy so for him to check it would take an act of God. any help or comments appreciated.

Kindly ask your father to download and run CPU-Z
From:
CPUID

click on the Mainboard tab

from there you can find out the Mobo model and figure out you need ide or sata

LOL Fat.clown, like I said that would take an act of God for him to download anything and try to navigate to be able to give me that info. I just showed him this weekend how to be able to download images from the internet so he could save photo's of the grandkids. I could try but I am not confident that he will be successful.

If it is an old P4 than I highly doubt that it will have sata connections, even if it does it will most definatly have IDE connections so I would be getting an IDE drive for sure
