I just bought a 1gb Memory Ram for my AMD Athlon 2500 xp and put it in the pc right, but when i seem to load my pc my monitor doesnt switch on.

When i take out the 1gb ram and leave my 256mb ram it seems to work fine.

I have tried just leaving the 1gb and taking my old ram but still there is no change.

I have tried putting the ram in other slots, and giving the slots a blow to get rid of dust but still nothing has changed.

Can someone please tell me what i can do?

Do you have 1GB stick and 1 256MB stick? If you do, you must run them is single channel. You need two of the same stick to run DDR.
