Default Having a problem booting my new system

I purchased an ECS P965T-A mobo, Pentium D 3.0 G CPU, 2x1g Patriot DDR2 880 memory sticks, 500w Antec Neo HE 500 ps, and am looking to use my existing GeForce 6200LE video card.

I hooked everything up and turn it on, the fans come on, i get power lights, some beeping and no POST or video and then after about 2 minutes, it shuts itself off.

I have built computers in the past, but this is my first attempt in aobut 4 years. I am sure it is operator error...lol

Any ideas? Thanks!!

Daniel

I would recommend taking out all the non-essential cards, etc. as well as all RAM except one and they try booting it. If it does, replace one thing at a time. I had a problem with a RAM stick not seated right and had the same symptoms. It really sounds like a card or connector is not seated right.

Hi patnshan,

I tried that, but no progress. So, I took the mobo back and got an Intel board and things are working well.

Thanks for the idea, take care,

Daniel
