Default A good cooler for this chip?

I need a heatsink and a fan for this CPU, cause I was told it runs hot, but I don't feel certain that I will get the right one.

Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz/Socket 478/ 1MB-L2 Cache/ 800 FSB

Any suggestions and/or pointers? Thanks...

Hmm... anything a little less costly? I'm not overclocking it or anything, it's just for regular use. The fan and heatsink isn't provided in the one I'm buying.

Why not?? Don't buy an oem version if your going to spend even more money on an aftermarket hs/f. If you've already bought it then this should do you fine: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118112

Both of those fans look fine. Itd still get the Zalman one though.

That's only for socket 775,Too bad it didn't fit 478 cause it's a really good heatsink.

how about telling us the temps of the processor at idle and under load and we'll suggest whether or not it is overheating. a second opinion could save you money :/.

i would say grab a lower end HSF from a manufacturer like ThermalTake or Zalman, perhaps the zalman 7700 alcu

Not really a good heatsink,I had the Spark7+ which is pretty much the same exact and it didn't do much better than stock,You had to have the fan maxxed out to see a little difference and it's freaking LOUD!!! at that speed (43dba )
