Is this a good build for gaming?
I am missing a case. This is everything I would like to have eventually. I would like to keep the price as close to $500 or less as possible without an OS or peripherals.

This build comes to $521 before mail in rebates and would give you better performance.

im not completely sure but isn't teh pentium e2180 much worse than the athlon x2 5400?

At stock the 5400+ is faster but if you overclock it the E2180 will be faster. I should have mentioned that in my earlier post.

Thanks. Since I have no idea how to overclock processors I will probably just stick with the AMD then.

If you are willing to spend a little more the Intel E7200 is significantly faster than the E2180 or 5400+ without overclocking.

Otherwise the 5400+ is probably your best option.
