Default A Few Questions about Hard Drives. Please Help

I have a few questions about hard drives and basic understanding. First I am running Windows XP. I have an 80gb hard drive in there now but I want to install a new hard drive in order to use if purely for storage, and I plan on buying an internal because they are cheaper. Here are my questions:

1) How can I tell if my hard drive is SATA or IDE?

2) Can I use a second internal purely for storage?

3) Do both the hard drives have to be the same type, either SATA or IDE?

4) Do multiple hard drives suck up more memory or computer resources?

Thanks

1. Look at the connection. IDE has pins and SATA is like a small plug
2. Yes
3. No
4. No

The IDE cable is a wide, grey tape cable.
